Taupo
is only an hour's drive from Mt Ruapehu, the largest of the three magnificent
mountains in Tongariro National Park. There are two ski resorts on Mt Ruapehu
- Whakapapa (fark-a-par-par) and Turoa (too-row-a).
Whakapapa is New Zealand's largest ski resort.
The ski season is between July and October.

adventure activities to their students.
These activities can be part of your English course or after class. While studying
English is the first reason for the students to choose Taupo, particularly our
